STEM Education & Outreach

STEM Education & Outreach is one of the main focus areas of SCISD. This program is designed to inspire young people and teachers in Seychelles to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in fun and practical ways.

What We Do

Workshops
We run hands-on workshops where students can try experiments, build projects, and learn by doing. Teachers and Mentors also get training to bring more creative and modern ways of teaching into their classrooms.
Competitions
We organise challenges such as robotics competitions, coding hackathons, and innovation contests. These events give young people the chance to solve real problems, work in teams, and share their ideas.
School Clubs & Community Programs
We help schools set up STEM or Innovation Clubs where students can meet regularly, work on small projects, and present their ideas. We also run holiday bootcamps and internships to give students extra learning opportunities outside the classroom.
Career Guidance
We connect students with professionals working in STEM fields. By hearing their stories and experiences, students learn what future career paths are possible for them.
Future Skills
Our activities introduce young people to new technologies like robotics, renewable energy, and artificial intelligence to name a few. This helps them build problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking skills that are important for the jobs of the future.

Why It Matters

Through STEM Education & Outreach, SCISD is preparing the next generation of Seychellois to be curious thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators. By giving them early exposure to science and technology, we are opening doors to exciting future careers and helping Seychelles build a stronger, knowledge-based economy.
